Privacy
Cali News does not open reader accounts. This page says what is stored, what is not, and how to refuse cookies in the EU and the UK.
Who this covers
Cali News is an independently edited news desk published at calinews.live. There is no login, no newsletter list on this site, and no sale of personal information.
What the server sees
A normal visit writes a short technical log: IP address, browser, the page requested, and the time. That log is used to keep the site up and to spot abuse. It is not a profile of you.
Cookies
| Kind | Why | Choice |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Remember the cookie choice itself. | Always on |
| Measurement | Count visits after you accept. Nothing is measured before that in the EU or UK. | Accept or reject |
| Advertising | Not active yet. When an AdSense publisher id is added, ads load only after accept, with Google Consent Mode set to denied until then. | Accept or reject |
Visitors in the EU, EEA, and the UK see a choice before any measurement or ad cookie. Elsewhere the desk measures visits without that bar. You can change your mind by clearing site data for calinews.live.
Advertising file
ads.txt is published only after a real Google publisher id is set. Until then the address answers “not found” on purpose. A blank or invented ads.txt is worse than none.
Corrections and contact
Privacy questions and correction requests go to redaction@calinews.live. Factual corrections are logged on the corrections page. Who edits the desk is on ownership.
